CHRIST
At our church, the main goal is to talk a lot about Jesus—who he is and what he’s done for us in his life, death, and resurrection. The motto for us is, “We Proclaim Christ.” We take that seriously.
REFORMED
We teach from a “Reformed” perspective, meaning our preaching and teaching lines up with the doctrines that came out of the Protestant Reformation. Although our understanding of the church and baptism would mean we’re more of what you might call “Reformed Baptist.” Under the banner of the Evangelical Free Church, we have a healthy respect for the creeds and confessions of the church.
wORSHIP
We believe in joyful, reverent worship. We worship the King of kings and the Lord of lords, and yet he is also our Savior and Friend. Our God is in heaven, and we are on earth, and yet he is also our Heavenly Father.
Our worship services have a number of scripture readings and prayers, along with a sermon from the Bible that lasts about 40 minutes. We believe all the power is in God’s word, and so we intentionally fill our services with Scripture. We sing the word, read the word, pray the word, preach the word, and even see the word (in the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper).
Our music is a blend of old and new hymns. We believe that the classic hymns of the faith are precious—and they are classics for a reason. But it is also true that many newer hymns are being written that are full of wonderful, encouraging truths from Scripture. Our goal is to sing songs that are congregational (anyone can sing them) and theologically rich (filled with the timeless truths of our faith).
